All of the subject matter committees will have passed their favorable report deadlines, except the "money committees" (Appropriations, April 1; and Finance Revenue and Bonding, April 6) and Judiciary (March 29). This means that the list of bills that have been favorably reported to the floor will be the pool of potential Public Acts for this session and the bills that did not make it are dead (unless they are in the two committees listed above). Some of the bills have file copies already and the file numbers are listed in the table below. For the rest of the bills, the initial files should be ready in the next 15 days. As the file numbers become available, the will automatically be updated in the "Bill Status" page for each bill.
Many of the bills reported to the floor will be sent back out to subject matter committees that they should have visited before going to the floor but did not because of the very short time period between committee reporting deadlines. Once a bill is referred out to a committee, the committee that receives it can favorably report the bill back to the floor as is or with substitute language or kill the bill (either by a vote or by inaction).
Bills that died in committee could resurface later as amendments. To check for called or uncalled amendments, go to the "Bill Status" page and look for links to amendments or search all amendments from the General Assembly's website search page: http://search.cga.state.ct.us/. Table 1 is a list of select bills: it is not a comprehensive list of bills.

Committees continue to meet even after the JF deadlines to act on bills referred from the Floor. You can keep track of meetings using the "Meeting Agendas" link below or by checking in the Legislative Bulletin. If you are curious regarding the nature of support or opposition to a bill, you can get a very general summary from the JF Reports using the links below or from the link on the "Bill Status" page for a particular bill.
