The 2010 legislative session adjourned on May 5, 2010. The table below is a preliminary list of new Public Acts regarding environment, energy, and land use that may be of interest. Many of the Acts passed in the closing days of the session do not have Public Act numbers yet; as the Public Act numbers become available, they will appear on the "Bill Status" page. If a bill was amended but did not receive a new file copy before final passage, then the most recent file copy is included in the table below along with links to each of the subsequent amendments (e.g., House A; Senate A).
Now that the session has adjourned, the Governor has 15 days from the date of receipt of an engrossed bill to either sign or veto the bill. If after 15 days she has not signed or vetoed the bill, it automatically becomes law. If any Public Acts are vetoed, the legislature will hold a veto session to consider or attempt to override those vetoes.
Also, the House and Senate called a special session starting on May 6 2010. The call of the special session is limited to bills relating to the Citizens' Election Program statutes and other elections statutes.
