Lease Dispute

Rehabilitation Center

Represented rehabilitation center in lease dispute with its landlord. Client was sued for several hundred thousand dollars in unpaid and future rent. We defended by claiming that our client was constructively evicted from the property due to poor upkeep and maintenance. Complicating matters was the existence of a subtenant that needed to be accounted for in any settlement. We successfully negotiated a buy out that allowed our client to terminate the lease several years early at a substantial discount.
