Mortgage Foreclosure Representation

Represented homeowners in a mortgage foreclosure of property in Greenwich, Connecticut. Our clients had purchased the property, without knowing that it remained encumbered by a mortgage by seller to a bank that was not apparent from the land records. The bank brought the foreclosure against the seller, seeking title to our client’s property as well as other property still owned by seller. The situation was complicated by the fact that our client was being transferred to Europe and needed to sell his encumbered property immediately. Through mediation and follow up negotiations we were able to obtain a release of the bank’s mortgage on our client’s property.
