Settlement Involving Multiple Title Insurers

Property Owner

Represented owner of New Haven property purchased at a tax lien foreclosure sale. Years after the sale, after the property had increased in value substantially due to our client’s improvements, former co-owner of the property brought suit, claiming that he was not properly named in the foreclosure suit, and seeking to be paid half the improved value of the property. We negotiated a settlement involving multiple title insurers resulting in plaintiff quit claiming his interest in the property to our client.
