The economic stimulus package, officially named the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the "Act"), which President Obama signed into law on February 17th, includes extensive changes to the privacy and security rules under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA").
