Alfredo G. Fernandez has been elected President of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA). The CHBA strives to enhance professional opportunities for Hispanic attorneys as well as address issues impacting the Hispanic community, such as access to the courts, judicial diversity and other social challenges.
Mr. Fernandez has an extensive record of serving in leadership roles for CHBA. Before beginning his term as the organization’s President, Mr. Fernandez previously served as President-Elect, Vice President and Treasurer; he also served as the CHBA liaison for the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
Mr. Fernandez practices in the area of International Trade Compliance and Enforcement and also advises clients on regulatory compliance and transactional due diligence with respect to a wide range of federal, state and international environmental, health and safety laws. In 2016, he was recognized as one of the Top 40 Young Lawyers On the Rise by the American Bar Association and by Connecticut Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.
