Training
Interactive. We believe effective training is essential to the success of the firm as a whole, and our summer program is no exception. As part of our summer program, we offer both formal and informal training – designed specifically for summer associates.
Formal programs:
- 3 Day Orientation including Computer and Timekeeping Training
- Practice Group Roundtable Luncheons
- Interactive Departmental Trainings including Legal Writing, Negotiations, Mediations, Depositions, and Mergers & Acquisitions Trainings
- Mid-summer and final evaluation conferences designed to provide specific feedback and learning opportunities
Informal programs:
- Field trips to attend administrative hearings, bankruptcy court, court hearings, depositions, real estate and corporate closings, settlement negotiations, trials and sentencings, union negotiations, and will executions
- Service-oriented outings and pro-bono opportunities
- Social, cultural, and sports events, and firm-hosted dinners and receptions to help familiarize you with the larger Shipman & Goodwin community
