Case of First Impression of Governor's Attorney-Client Privilege

Office of the Governor, State of Connecticut

Representation of the Office of the Governor of Connecticut in criminal and legislative investigations of public corruption, including serving as chief counsel during eight days of televised impeachment proceedings by the Connecticut General Assembly; successfully litigating a case of first impression relating to the nature and scope of a public official’s attorney-client privilege before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; and arguing a groundbreaking appeal on separation of powers issues before the Connecticut Supreme Court, the first time in the Court’s history that an argument has been broadcast live on television.
