Corrine Burnick represents banks in their role as escrow agent or trustee in a wide variety of financing transactions, including leveraged lease and single investor lease financings and secured financings. Corrine also regularly represents clients with respect to restructuring and bankruptcy matters, and has been involved in several major airline, retail and power generation company bankruptcies, among others. She has particular experience representing fiduciaries for public debt in large, complex Chapter 11 cases.

Prior to joining the firm, Corrine served as a Law Clerk to The Honorable David M. Borden of the Connecticut Supreme Court.

Major Airline Bankruptcies

In several major U.S. airline Chapter 11 cases, represented national bank as trustee in connection with the financing of a significant number of debtors’ aircraft. Scope of representation included, among other things, representation of client as a member of unsecured creditors’ committees, prosecution and liquidation of billions of dollars of secured and unsecured claims to maximize recovery to bondholders, negotiation of critical legal issues and documentation concerning the restructuring of aircraft leases, loans and securitizations, and the management, foreclosure and sale of several aircraft.

Major Energy Bankruptcies

Represented a national bank, as trustee for public and private debt issued in the financing of power generation facilities, in several major power producer Chapter 11 cases. Successfully defended debtor’s attempt to recharacterize $1,500,000,000 leveraged lease transaction as secured financing. Played a major role in taking control of two gas-fired power generation facilities upon lease rejection by debtor and restoring them to operation. Assisted in the sale of over $300,000,000 in defaulted equipment notes to issuer. Negotiated plans of reorganization, negotiated claims resolution and served on creditors committees.
