Shipman & Goodwin represents both national and regional franchisors, manufacturers and suppliers, in all manner of disputes arising under state and federal franchise laws. We are especially experienced in litigation arising under the Connecticut franchising, distribution and business opportunity laws.
We represented the franchisor in a case brought before the Connecticut Supreme Court case that yielded the first comprehensive judicial analysis of the state franchising statute. We have also litigated cases involving franchising and distribution issues in state and federal trial courts in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York, and in the First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals.
