Robin G. Frederick honored by Stamford Jewish Community Center

Shipman & Goodwin Partner, Attorney Robin G. Frederick was honored at the Jewish Community Center’s (JCC) Annual Spring Fundraiser for her years of service to the JCC. Held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, the gala saluted the distinguished leadership of its four most recent past presidents, including Robin, who served as its president from 2005 - 2007.

“I am honored to be recognized by the JCC,” says Robin. “It has been a privilege to serve an organization that contributes in such a meaningful way to the greater Stamford community.”

Robin began her service to the JCC in the early 1990’s and remained on the board for more than 10 years, serving first as director, then on the executive committee as counsel and as secretary. In the late 1990’s, Robin was appointed as counsel to the JCC Governance Committee and then elected to serve as president of the JCC in May 2005. During her tenure as president, Robin played a major roll in planning the Stamford 2006 JCC Maccabi Games, an organization that seeks to enrich the lives of Jewish youth through athletic, cultural and educational programs.

“We are truly grateful for the dedication of Robin and all of the past president’s of the Stamford JCC as they tirelessly contributed in helping the organization Reach New Heights.” said Gary Lipman of the JCC.

Robin is also a member of the national Board of Directors of the JCC Association of North America. She continues to serve on the board of directors as the immediate past president, and provides ongoing employment counsel to the Stamford JCC.

Professionally, Robin is a partner in the law firm of Shipman & Goodwin LLP, focusing her practice in employment law and litigation. She practices in the firm’s Stamford office.

“Shipman & Goodwin is proud of Robin’s accomplishments,” said Scott Murphy, Managing Partner. “And to have her as part of our team and having had achieved this distinction is an additional honor.”

Robin earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from Cornell. Robin lives in Stamford with her husband and two daughters.
