Robin G. Frederick, has been named as the 2008 recipient of the Jewish Community Center’s Harold E. Hoffman Humanitarian Award. Frederick was presented with the award at the Jewish Community Center’s annual meeting held on May 13th.
Each year the Hoffman Award is given to the individual who best expresses the ideals of service to the community that Harold E. Hoffman, a long-time Jewish Community Center leader and distinguished humanitarian and philanthropist, exemplified during his lifetime.
“The Stamford Jewish Community Center has been graced with stellar leadership throughout its nearly 100-year history,” said Gary S. Lipman, JCC CEO. “Robin is among those leaders who have distinguished themselves. She is a visionary thinker, and she has guided the organization and helped it grow into the vibrant and vital community institution it is today.”
Professionally, Frederick is a partner in the law firm of Shipman & Goodwin LLP, in both the Labor and Employment and Litigation Departments. She practices in the firm’s Stamford office. A member of the Federal Bar Council’s Connecticut Public Service Committee, Frederick is also a member of various local and national bar associations, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Bar Association. Frederick is a past member and former vice chair of the Mayor of Stamford’s School Readiness Council.
Frederick was recently honored for her distinguished leadership serving as president of the JCC from 2005-2007, at the JCC’s spring fundraiser, “Reaching the Heights: A Gala Salute to Distinguished Leadership.”
