Join Shipman & Goodwin Employment Law attorneys Daniel Schwartz and Ashley Marshall for this complimentary webinar where they will discuss Connecticut employer issues arising from the new federal overtime rule.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s release of a final rule on overtime for white-collar workers has raised more questions than answers for Connecticut employers. While the new rule will go into effect December 1, 2016, we know that many employers are in a budget-setting process now and need to make some decisions about how they will pay their employees. This program, designed for employers of all sizes and their in-house counsel or human resources officers, will provide practical solutions for employers struggling to meet the new requirements of the law, particularly where the new requirements conflict with long-standing Connecticut law.
Topics will include:
- Overview of the new federal overtime rule
- Comparison with Connecticut’s existing (and unchanged) wage and hour rules
- Tips on how to comply with both state and federal law
- Discussion of common scenarios arising under the new law
