We are seeking a Staff Attorney to join our Estate Planning team, resident in our Hartford office. Candidates should have experience in drafting complex estate plans (Revocable Trusts, ILITs, GRATs QPRTs, Dynasty Trusts) as well as preparing gift tax returns. Candidates must be self-starters and able to meet the needs of the Trusts & Estates Practice Group’s clients and attorneys. Candidates must also possess a client-service mindset and have strong organizational skills. We are seeking two associates, one with three to four years of experience and one with four to six years of experience, to join our real estate and finance practice in Stamford and New York. Candidates should have experience in commercial real estate with a focus on leasing, conveyancing and bank side lending including drafting loan documents. Experience with structured finance/capital markets and general corporate matters is considered a plus but not required. Strong drafting and negotiation skills are required. Candidates must be self-starters, have the desire to grow in responsibility and ultimately manage transactions, have experience working as a member of a team on complex deals and be willing to work out of offices in Stamford, New York and occasionally Hartford as needs dictate. We will consider candidates who prefer to work from the firm’s New York office on a limited regular schedule for a portion of the time so long as the candidate would also maintain a regular primary schedule in one of the firm’s Connecticut offices.To apply, please click here.


We are seeking an associate to join our Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights practice in our Hartford or Stamford office. Candidates should have one to four years of experience in bankruptcy or commercial litigation with an interest in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights work. Candidates must have strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, along with a client service mindset and strong case management skills. We are seeking an attorney with a minimum of five years of experience in transactional work to join our well-established, nationally renowned Corporate Trust practice in either our Hartford or Stamford office. The Corporate Trust group works closely with the capital markets and loan agency departments of major national banks and other financial institutions, representing them as trustees, administrative agents, escrow agents and collateral or security agents in a wide variety of corporate debt, project finance, municipal bond, secured and structured financing transactions and defaults. Applicants with finance or securities/capital markets experience would be ideal. Successful applicants must have the ability to work with complex transactional documents and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment. We value collaboration and collegiality among our lawyers and are looking for someone proactive with strong interpersonal skills to join our team. Candidates must have experience in representing independent schools, colleges or public schools, or have comparable legal experience. Experience in one or more of the following education law areas is preferred: disability matters including special education, student discipline and student rights, labor relations including collective bargaining and grievance arbitration, employment counseling, Board governance, and non-discrimination issues. Strong counseling skills and exceptional presentation skills required.
