Bankruptcy Court Counsel Resulting from Dow Corning Bankruptcy

The firm served as bankruptcy court counsel to The Travelers Insurance Company, United Healthcare Corporation, The MetraHealth Companies, Aetna Life Insurance Company and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Connecticut (now an Anthem company) and an additional large number of health benefit payors and claims administrators separately represented in the In re: Silicone Gel Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation (MDL 926) proceedings, in connection with the prosecution of subrogation and reimbursement claims arising from Silicone Gel Breast Implants against Dow Corning Corporation in the Dow Corning Bankruptcy. The firm's involvement commenced in 1995 when Dow Corning Corporation went into bankruptcy upon the failure of an initial settlement with tort claimants in the MDL 926 litigation completed on June 1, 2004, with the distribution to the health benefit payors and claims administrators of substantial proceeds of a settlement negotiated by the firm's attorneys.
