Offices: Connecticut Phase I Reopening Rules

  • Offices may reopen at 50% capacity; employees should continue to work from home where possible
  • Common areas of buildings are the responsibility of the landlord, while individual tenant areas are the responsibility of each tenant
  • Limit visitors and service providers on-site; visitors must wear face masks
  • Complete a thorough cleaning of the facility prior to reopening, including bathrooms, door handles and knobs, printers, phones, vending machines, etc.
  • Maintain social distancing in elevators by queuing, placing social distancing markers and restricting capacity
  • Employees must wear a face mask. Employees may remove masks when they are alone and working in segregated space, or when they are working in outdoor spaces at a distance of six feet apart or more
  • Place disposable wipes near shared surfaces (e.g., copiers, kitchens)
  • Separate the workspace into discrete work zones and arrange desks so employees are at least six feet apart; position desks so employees can avoid facing opposite one another
  • Mark desks that cannot be used
  • Close or remove non-essential amenities such as coat rooms
  • Install touchless appliances where possible, such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and water fountains
  • Make doors no-touch where possible
  • Ensure employees do not share equipment to extent possible
  • Use partitions between employees where six-foot distance is not possible
  • Clean and disinfect common areas and frequently touched surfaces at least daily
