Shipman & Goodwin is pleased to present the 7th Annual Labor and Employment Updates and Topics of Interest Seminar to the Connecticut Career Fire Chief's Association (CCFCA) on February 9, 2018.

This promises to be an interesting and informative program regarding recent developments in labor and employment law.  The program is intended to give CCFCA members, HR professionals and General Counsel an overview of timely labor and employment topics as well as updates on recent legislation and court decisions affecting the fire service. Topics will include:

  • Department liability for lacking mandated inspections (Bridgeport lawsuit)
  • Impact of proposed legislation to modify collective bargaining in CT

  • Legal aspects of testing for entry-level firefighters
  • Negotiations update
