    Client Training - ADA and Accommodations

    Available for: Public Schools, Independent Schools and Colleges and Universities

    This training will discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act's (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as well as review recommendations on key compliance issues, including accommodations, modifications of policies and procedures, provision of auxiliary aids and safety concerns.  Participants will receive practical guidance on frequently asked questions such as:

    • Who is considered "disabled" under the ADA and Section 504?
    • How do we respond to requests for accommodation and safety concerns?
    • How do we determine whether an accommodation is reasonable?
    • What are the requirements to modify policies and procedures?
    • What if there are competing and conflicting requests for accommodation?
    • What steps do we take to ensure protection from liability or other concerns?
