    Client Training - Bullying Prevention and Intervention and Mandated Reporting

     

    Available for: Public Schools and Independent Schools

    Drawing from statutory authority, Office of Civil Rights (OCR) guidance and recent cases, this training will provide the latest legal guidance in the evolving area of bullying behavior, including cyber-bullying and social media, and will focus on developing appropriate policies, conducting effective investigations, and avoiding litigation.  Participants will receive guidance on topics such as:

    • Identifying when bullying may constitute discrimination
    • Cyber-bullying and responding to off-campus misconduct
    • Developing intervention strategies and appropriate policies
    • Coordinating and applying relevant policies to address bullying, such as sexual harassment and disability based policies
    • Conducting effective investigations
    • Best practices for responding to bullying complaints
    • Understanding mandated reporting obligations
    • Coordinating with outside agencies
    • Recent agency guidance and court decisions
