Julie Fay and Leander Dolphin will present the session, “Legal Landscape: Hot Topics and Trends for Independent Schools.”  This session will review current issues and trends facing schools at both the state and national level, including legislative changes in the area of legalized marijuana, equal pay and sexual harassment, as well as the challenges schools are facing related to student mental health, vaccinations and the epidemic rise of vaping. As part of our discussion, we will discuss practical and legal considerations in the wake of the college admissions scandal and the #metoo movement, as well as recent cases of interest to independent schools.
