Shipman Partner, Aaron Levy will be part of the program, "Demystifying CT's Transition to a Release-Based Remediation Program"

About this Program

Since the State passed legislation in 2020 to sunset the “Transfer Act”, CT’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has been working with stakeholders to develop the replacement “Release-Based” program.  This arduous process has led to many questions about implications of the transition to the regulated community and property owners. Initial draft program regulations were expected to be issued by the end of 2023, which will provide a more tangible understanding of what exactly the new program will require, how it will work, and how it will potentially affect and intersect with a variety of other, existing environmental requirements in CT. This program is intended to be an update and touch-point for practitioners about this major regulatory transition as the State moves closer to bringing it to fruition.

You Will Learn

• About DEEP’s proposed Release-Based Program regulations
• What the regulations could mean for environmental obligations, risks, and liabilities for the regulated community
• About the possible timing of when the regulatory shift can be expected, as well as the opportunities to inform the process

Who Should Attend
