Alfredo Fernández will present during the U.S. Commercial Service webinar series, "PFAS Mini Boot Camp for Exporters Part I: PFAS Basics: What You Need to Know?"

PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) are a diverse and ubiquitous group of man-made chemicals that are resistant to heat, water, and oil. Health effects and toxicity are still not fully understood, but PFAS substances are starting to come under state, federal and international regulation with much more expected in the coming years.

The first session will cover the PFAS basics, including where they are found, what health,  environmental and legal risks they present, how they are regulated and how exporters and manufacturers can assess and manage their PFAS risks.
