Webinar: PFAS at Metal-Plating Facilities: Environmental Management and Regulatory Developments
TRC Companies, Inc.
November 12, 2020
Shipman and TRC, a national leader in per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) characterization, research and technical consulting, have developed a webinar to help metal plating companies understand potential PFAS risks associated with their operations, including an update on laws, regulations and policies expected to affect the metal plating industry (e.g., Toxic Release Inventory [TRI] reporting and varying state and federal initiatives).
Andrew Davis will be a panelist and will be joined by Elizabeth Denly, ASQ CMQ/OE, Technical Director at TRC and Melissa Hart, TRI Regulatory Expert at TRC.
The PFAS Act of 2019 added 172 PFAS compounds to the list of chemicals that must be evaluated for TRI reporting for 2020 (due July 1, 2021). Understanding how to identify PFAS-containing materials and assess and prepare TRI threshold calculations is critical to knowing whether you have to report.
Other topics will include:
- Environmental issues due to PFAS
- The latest on regulations relating to PFAS
- A legal perspective on the PFAS concern
