Habeas court found, in a forty eight-page opinion and after an eleven-day court trial involving legal and medical expert witnesses, as well as a host of fact witnesses, that defendant was entitled to a new trial because trial counsel was ineffective and prosecutor withheld exculpatory evidence. Prosecutors decided thereafter not to prosecute the matter, in the face of the overwhelming evidence presented.
