Currently defending the City of Meriden, Connecticut’s Inland Wetlands and Watercourse Commission in an administrative appeal brought in New Haven Superior Court by Executive Auto Group. Executive Auto applied for an inland wetlands permit in connection with its proposed construction of a large used car distribution facility. The Commission denied the permit, citing concerns that there was inadequate protection of inland wetlands on the property to prevent harm from storm-water contaminated with gasoline, oil and other hazardous liquids related to intensive automobile use. The appeal also involves issues concerning the applicant’s failure to properly flag the wetlands and to protect nearby drinking water wells.
