Client was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident between two cars that had been racing each other. The client was diagnosed with mild, but permanent traumatic brain injury that affected her abilities to advance her education and impacted her job performance. While the insurance coverage appeared initially to be inadequate, our team was able to establish that one of the drivers, who was not yet 21 years old at the time, had been drinking alcohol while working at a franchise restaurant just prior to the crash. As a result additional insurance coverage became available, and the case settled for $1,100,000.
