$750,000 SETTLEMENT - Motor Vehicle Accident - Nerve Injury

Our client was struck from behind by a commercial van.  While there was minimal property damage to our client’s car, the commercial van had to be towed.  Our client was a nurse, who never missed any time from work due to her injuries sustained in the crash.  She had a long history of chiropractic care for her neck and she had neck pain following the crash.  Approximately two months after the crash, our client developed symptoms on one side of her face.  After trying conservative care, she eventually found the only medical care that alleviated her facial symptoms was a radiofrequency ablation procedure performed twice a year.  Defendant argued that the facial symptoms were not related to the crash since there were no such complaints in the first two months after the crash.  We argued that there was no other cause of the symptoms and our client would need future radiofrequency ablations to alleviate her symptoms.  The case settled after mediation and shortly before the start of trial for $750,000.
