Shipman & Goodwin is pleased to announce that Jim Schulwolf, a partner in the firm's Corporate and Finance practice groups, has been elected to the American Law Institute (“ALI”).

The ALI, the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and improve the law, selects members through a rigorous nomination process that recognizes exceptional achievement and dedication to law improvement.

Jim brings decades of experience representing financial institutions, borrowers, institutional investors, buyers and sellers of businesses, and other clients in various financing, investment, and acquisition transactions. His practice focuses on commercial lending, mezzanine finance, acquisition finance, project and alternative energy finance, mergers & acquisitions, fund investments, and other sophisticated transactions.

A graduate of Amherst College and New York University School of Law, Jim has established himself as a leader in his field, earning recognition from prestigious legal rankings including Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America©. He frequently shares his expertise through publications and presentations on commercial finance topics.  He is a former Chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section and a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers.
