Negotiated Global Settlement with Chapter 11 Debtor and Purchaser of Debtor’s Assets

Represented equipment lessor in negotiating global settlement with Chapter 11 debtor and purchaser of debtor’s assets concerning the disposition of equipment leased to the debtor under six different schedules in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.  Representation included responding to claims that leases were disguised secured financings as well as disputes over the ability to identify the leased equipment. Negotiated a payment from buyer for acquisition of certain leased equipment, the return of other leased equipment, and an administrative expense claim for unpaid post-petition rent.
