Sarah Westby was recently quoted in the Hartford Business Journal's article entitled, "New Cannabis Businesses Set to Launch in 2024, While Sector Keeps Eye on Federal Reforms."

Sarah Westby, a partner at law firm Shipman & Goodwin and chair of its cannabis practice, noted that with several potential growers already in the licensing pipeline, at least one or two will likely begin production this year, and new dispensaries will likely come online.

“Several retail equity joint venture stores received provisional approval in 2023, and will likely open in 2024,” Westby said. “The opening of additional retail stores across the state, coupled with the anticipated launch of new cultivation businesses, should result in increased retail cannabis sales, which have flattened in recent months.”

The article goes on to discuss state and federal regulatory changes likely to impact the cannabis industry. Read the full article.
