Shipman & Goodwin Welcomes Accomplished Real Estate Attorney Cyd Smith as Partner

Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to announce that Cynthia (Cyd) L. Smith, has joined the firm as a partner in its Real Estate Practice Group. With more than two decades of experience representing owners, developers, landlords, tenants, and contractors, Cyd brings a practical, business-oriented approach to commercial real estate matters throughout the Northeast and nationwide.
Cyd joins Shipman from Whitman Breed, where she led the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. She also previously served as Associate General Counsel for a national real estate company with integrated development, ownership, and management operations.
Her work spans the leasing, financing, acquisition, and development of retail, office, and mixed-use properties, as well as real estate tax appeals and high-end residential construction matters. Cyd’s deep knowledge of the real estate industry, coupled with her in-house counsel perspective, positions her to deliver creative, client-focused solutions across the real estate lifecycle.
