Shipman & Goodwin LLP has been named the Law Firm Volunteer of the Year by the Pro Bono Partnership (PBP), recognizing the firm's dedication to providing free legal services to nonprofit organizations serving communities in need.
The firm will be honored along with others at the PBP’s annual awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 6, at The Lyceum in Hartford.
Each year, more than 150 corporations and law firms and as many as 1,000 individual attorneys respond to the Pro Bono Partnership's call to provide free legal assistance to nonprofit organizations serving the poor or providing other important social and community services in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.
The Volunteer of the Year designation recognizes those whose dedication rises well above the ordinary, distinguished by the complexity or transformative nature of a pro bono project, extraordinary responsiveness, or the sheer volume of matters or time committed to pro bono service through the Partnership.
"We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Pro Bono Partnership," said Leander Dolphin, Shipman’s Managing Partner. "Our attorneys are committed to using their skills to support those in need in our community. This award reflects the dedication of our entire team."
