Successfully represented a property owner in a boundary dispute with her neighbor on Columbia Lake. When building a new house on the property, the client learned that the property line ran at a different angle from the road than what she and her family had always understood. The client was forced to bring suit asking the court to quiet title to the disputed area under a theory of adverse possession. After a three-day trial in which several fact witnesses and an expert surveyor along with numerous photos and other exhibits were presented, the court agreed that the plaintiff had sufficiently established her family's usage of the area for more than 15 years, and awarded judgment in her favor. Carter v. Yampanis, Rockville Superior Court., Jan. 24, 2008.
