Thomas B. Mooney, Co-Chair of Shipman & Goodwin LLP’s School Law Practice Group, has authored the ninth edition of A Practical Guide to Connecticut School Law, which was recently published by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE).

The Guide is the leading treatise on Connecticut school law and is used by school administrators, teachers, school board members and practitioners throughout the state. It also serves as the textbook for a number of school law courses offered at the graduate level in Connecticut universities.

Significant developments are addressed in the ninth edition, including:

Mr. Mooney is active in all areas of school law, including labor negotiations for certified and non-certified staff, teacher tenure proceedings, grievance arbitration, freedom of information hearings, student disciplinary matters, special education disputes and all other legal proceedings involving boards of education. In addition, he has taught school law at the University of Connecticut School of Law since 1985, and has served as Professor in Residence at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut since 2001.
