For HR professionals and employment lawyers, the basics of FMLA and ADA is an oft-covered topic in law firm webinars.

But I’ve heard from plenty of people that they’re good with the basics; it’s the tricky issues that give them headaches.

With the acknowledgement that one person’s difficult question may be another person’s easy one, my colleagues, Keegan Drenosky and Claire Pariano, (with an assist from someone you know from this blog, ahem) will try to tackle at least some of these challenges at the first program of my firm’s Fall Webinar Series for Employers.

Starting on October 3rd at noon (and running each Tuesday through October), we have scheduled a free webinar to talk about some topics and interviews that you might not see elsewhere. You can find the full schedule and sign up here.

As for our Tuesday program, we’ll try to address complex situations involving employee leave and accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and a variety of state and local paid sick and family leave acts. Ever had an employee who is supposed to drive but has a phobia of bridges? How about an employee who needs intermittent leave or a job coach? What do you do when the employee brings a note from their dentist?

Upcoming webinars will feature:

  • A Conversation with Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities Deputy Director Cheryl Sharp – Tuesday, October 10, 2023 | 12 Noon
  • Emerging Employment Law Challenges: What You Should Know – Tuesday, October 17, 2023 | 12 Noon; and,
  • Putting it in Writing: Legal Ethics for Employment Lawyers – Tuesday, October 24, 2023 | 12 Noon

I hope you can join us from all or some of them. We’ll even record them so you can watch them later — but only if you register.
