Two Shipman Partners Named to Hartford Business Journal's Power 50 List for 2026

Shipman & Goodwin LLP is proud to share that managing partner Leander A. Dolphin and partner Matthew D. Ritterhave once again been recognized on Hartford Business Journal's ("HBJ") 2026 Power 50 list. HBJ's seventh annual Power 50 class, selected by the journal's editorial staff, spotlights newsmakers and movers and shakers across the private and public sectors, nonprofits, higher education, real estate, and other fields who are having a broad impact within the state of Connecticut.
Dolphin leads Shipman as managing partner while maintaining an active practice counseling universities, colleges, public and independent schools, and other education and employment clients. Her work spans the full range of education and employment law, including the development and implementation of non-discrimination policies, student and employee discipline matters, confidentiality and privacy issues, and special education disputes. Beyond the firm, Dolphin is a recognized civic leader, serving on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association and as Commissioner and Chair of the Connecticut Judicial Selection Committee.
Ritter, whose practice at Shipman focuses on public finance, municipal law, and election law, is equally well known for his distinguished record of public service in the Connecticut General Assembly. First elected as the State Representative for Hartford's 1st Assembly District in 2010, Matt went on to serve as House Majority Leader from 2017 through 2021 before being unanimously elected Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives where he has served the State of Connecticut ever since.
