The Grit Project: How to Develop the Secret Skills of America's Top Women Attorneys CLE
Connecticut Bar Association in collaboration with The Women in the Law Section | CLE
May 2, 2018
In the past two decades, women and men have entered law firms as first-year associates in roughly equal numbers. However, by the time women arrive at the most senior leadership levels – non-equity and equity partners – they represent only 29 percent and 17 percent of their peers, respectively. These individuals, among the most highly successful women attorneys in the country, share two traits: grit and growth mindset. The best news? Women attorneys have control over them.
You Will Learn
- What is grit and why does it matter
- What is a growth mindset, and why do so many women attorneys lack it
- How to tackle some of the most difficult real-world work problems
- How some of the grittiest women attorneys in Connecticut have managed to succeed, both as practicing and non-practicing attorneys
