Alexander Macheras is an associate in the firm’s Boston office. A member of Shipman's Trusts, Estates and Fiduciary Management practice, Alex advises individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, tax planning, and trust and estate administration. His practice spans both the design of wealth transfer strategies and the defense of plans when they are challenged in audits or disputes. Clients benefit from his ability to combine careful planning with strong advocacy, ensuring that client assets are preserved, and their goals are carried out with clarity.
Alex works with clients to prepare comprehensive estate plans that include wills, revocable trusts, and advanced planning vehicles such as Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, and Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts. He also advises on tax-efficient gifting, succession planning for closely held businesses, and charitable giving strategies. In addition, Alex prepares and reviews gift, estate, and income tax returns, helping clients remain compliant while minimizing exposure.
