Kimberly Catala

Kimberly Catala is an associate in the Labor and Employment and School Law practice groups, advising clients on workplace policies, employee relations, and compliance with state and federal employment laws. She also counsels public school boards and municipalities on labor negotiations and school law matters.

Kimberly drafts memoranda, motions, and briefs for submission to state and federal courts, the EEOC and CHRO, the FOIC, and the AAA. She conducts research to advise clients on policy updates and legal opinions relating to employment law. Kimberly also participates in school board and municipal labor negotiations, including research into comparative data and policies, and presents on topics including recent legislation, labor law changes, and school law issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Kimberly served as a Judicial Law Clerk to Justice Andrew J. McDonald of the Connecticut Supreme Court, where she conducted research and collaborated on opinion drafting. She also clerked as a Judicial Extern for Judge Victor A. Bolden in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. During law school, she represented low-income individuals in tax-related matters as a Certified Legal Intern at the Quinnipiac Law School Tax Clinic and represented clients in PPT, 504, and expulsion hearing meetings as a Certified Legal Intern at New Haven Legal Assistance. She also worked as a Summer Associate at Reid and Riege PC.

Before law school, Kimberly was an AP Language teacher and Teach for America Corps Member in New Haven, and later a Literature Teacher in Bethlehem, Connecticut.
