
Sarah Elkins is an associate in Shipman’s Workout, Restructure and Bankruptcy and Business Litigation practices. She represents clients in complex litigation and matters in connection with bankruptcy filings and insolvency proceedings.
Prior to joining Shipman, Sarah worked as an attorney for a nonprofit organization that investigates and litigates claims on behalf of individuals who have been wrongfully convicted. She also interned at Greater Boston Legal Services, where she researched legal issues involving Section 8 termination and eviction defense for individuals with disabilities. Sarah also completed a two-year, post-graduate fellowship with the clinical programs at Boston College Law School. As a fellow, Sarah worked with the Boston College Innocence Program, evaluating cases of prisoners who maintained their innocence, assisting with planning and conducting investigations, including client and witness interviews, and litigating motions for post-conviction relief. Throughout her fellowship, Sarah also worked with the Boston College Lifer Parole Clinic representing clients at parole hearings.
