Tyler Bischoff is an associate in the firm's School Law Practice Group, where he advises public school districts and educational institutions, including independent schools, on a broad range of education, labor, and employment law matters. His practice includes student and employee discipline, policy development and review, collective bargaining, the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), First Amendment issues, Title IX compliance, and workplace and school investigations. Tyler has represented school law clients in state and federal courts, as well as before state administrative agencies.
Tyler first joined the firm in 2019, where he worked extensively with school law clients on labor and employment matters. He later served as Permanent Law Clerk to Judge Robert W. Clark of the Connecticut Appellate Court and Justice Nora R. Dannehy of the Connecticut Supreme Court. In those roles, he worked on cases spanning virtually every area of Connecticut law, helping analyze and resolve significant legal issues before the state's appellate courts. Drawing on that experience, Tyler now helps boards of education and other educational institutions navigate complex legal challenges, understand their statutory and regulatory obligations, and develop practical, strategic solutions.
Before joining the firm, Tyler served as a law clerk to the Honorable Christine E. Keller of the Connecticut Appellate Court. During law school, he was a judicial extern to the Honorable Bruce M. Selya of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and an intern with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Rhode Island. Prior to attending law school, Tyler worked as a college admissions counselor at a private university, giving him firsthand insight into the education community he now serves.
