Associate

Ian is an Associate in Shipman’s Real Estate, Land Use, Environmental, Energy and Construction practices, and was previously a Summer Associate in 2021 and 2022.

Ian brings a fresh perspective and a strong foundation in various aspects of commercial real estate law. His practice includes real estate finance, development, acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.

Ian assists developers through the different stages of real estate development, offering a practical and detail-oriented approach. He also has experience with Environmental Use Restrictions, providing essential guidance on navigating environmental regulations. This dual focus allows Ian to offer clients well-rounded legal support.

While in law school, Ian served as President of the Latinx Law Student Association at Quinnipiac University. During his tenure as President, his organization fostered robust partnerships with the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association, creating valuable opportunities for law students to connect with local Latinx attorneys.

Represented the University of New Haven in the closing of its purchase of the “Railroad Salvage” building and land adjacent to the University. This long-awaited purchase furthers their strategic vision and mission of building a new Research and Development Center which will provide students with a hands-on opportunity in advanced manufacturing industries and be the key intersection of university research, innovation, and workforce development.
