Shipman & Goodwin LLP (Shipman) today announced the addition of five attorneys in Boston, marking continued strategic expansion in the firm’s litigation, family business and trusts and estates practices. Four of the attorneys join the firm from Tarlow Breed Hart & Rodgers, P.C. (TBHR), completing the combination of the two firms and further strengthening Shipman’s platform across key practices. Shipman will continue to operate its Boston office from the same location at 101 Huntington Avenue, in the Prudential Center.
The attorneys joining Shipman include litigation partners Al DeNapoli, Mark Furman, John Stuebing, and associate David Mahoney, formerly with TBHR, and trusts and estates counsel Amanda MacGee. These attorneys have longstanding relationships with colleagues across the firm and share a commitment to collaboration, client service, and practical problem‑solving. Their arrival increases the firm’s attorney headcount in Boston to 21.
“This team brings incredible legal talent, but more importantly, they share our core values when it comes to client service,” said Melissa Sydney, who co-leads the firm's Boston office with Jeffrey Hart. “We aren't just expanding; we’re deepening our commitment to being responsive partners for the individuals and companies that drive this region.”
Shipman’s recent expansion includes Connecticut attorneys Bianca Burns, a litigator who recently joined the firm’s Stamford office, and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights litigator Gregory Papeika in New Haven. Together these additions enhance depth across core disciplines and reflect a coordinated, firmwide approach to growth.
“Our continued growth in Boston, alongside recent additions in Connecticut, reflects a deliberate, strategic approach to building strength where our clients need us most,” said Leander Dolphin, Managing Partner of Shipman. “By investing in talented lawyers across offices and practices, we are reinforcing the collaborative culture that defines our firm and ensuring we remain well positioned to support clients with complex, evolving needs across the region.”
Shipman continues to invest in talent that aligns with its strategic priorities, underscoring the firm’s momentum and commitment to building durable, practice-driven growth throughout the Northeast.
